Tom Vilsack is the current Secretary of Agriculture. He was appointed by President Biden and took office on January 20, 2021. Prior to his current position, Vilsack served as the 30th Governor of Iowa from 1999 to 2007. He was also a member of the Iowa Senate from 1992 to 1998.
Vilsack was nominated by President Joe Biden on January 7th, 2021
Former Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack has been nominated by President Joe Biden to serve as the next Secretary of Agriculture. Vilsack previously served as Secretary of Agriculture under President Barack Obama from 2009 to 2017. If confirmed by the Senate, Vilsack will be the first person to serve two non-consecutive terms as Secretary of Agriculture.

On February 23rd, 2021, the Senate confirmed Tom Vilsack as the 30th U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. Vilsack previously served as the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture from 2009 to 2017, making him the only person to have served in that role for two different presidents. As Secretary of Agriculture, Vilsack will oversee a budget of approximately $145 billion and a workforce of more than 100,000 employees.

Sonny Perdue is the current and 30th United States Secretary of Agriculture. He was appointed by President Donald Trump on January 20, 2017 and was confirmed by the Senate on April 24, 2017. Prior to his appointment, Perdue served as the Governor of Georgia from 2003 to 2011.
